How much food can you fit into your bento? Some suggestions….

For afternoon snack fans or for diet freaks: Bento up to 500 ML.

For average eaters: 500-700 ML Bento 

For food lovers: the largest bento, over 700 ML

For big eaters: you’d better choose a Pic Nic Set, 2240 ML

360-500 ml

360 ml two tier bento: loose yoghurt and dry fruit or berries, fruit purée and cookies. 360 ml single tier bento: a small portion of pasta with sauce. 440-500 ml two tier bento: a small portion of pasta with sauce and a small dessert.  440-500 ml single tier bento: a portion of cooked veggies or cous cous salad with vegetables.

500-600 ml

500-550 ml two tier bento: fruit salad with yoghurt and a portion of meat with vegetables. 550 ml single tier bento: a large portion of meat with vegetables or 3 boiled eggs or a large portion of steamed cereals with dressing or an average portion of pasta and its sauce or a portion of cheese. 600 ml single tier bento: a portion of baked lasagna or a portion of pasta with meat sauce – a generous portion of a savoury pie.

650-700 ml

650-700 ml two tier bento: diced fresh fruit and yoghurt or dry fruit mix and a small portion of plain rice with veggies or meat tidbits. 650-700 ml single tier bento: a portion of pasta with vegetables or meat sauce, or cereals with vegetables.

700-900 ml

700-900 ml double tier bento: a rich portion of pasta with sauce and a second course or a side dish.

900-1200 ml

900-1200 ml two tier bento: a rich portion of baked pasta and a portion of cooked vegetables or fresh fruit salad. 1150-1200 ml two tier bento: a large upper tier for a generous first course or a rich second course and a smaller lower tier for a side dish or cheese, fruit or a dessert.

2240 ml

2240 ml two tier bento: 4 sandwiches or 2 sandwiches and 3 stuffed mini-buns and an egg omelette with a side of raw vegetables, cheese, fruit and a dessert – a double portion of pasta with sauce, cooked vegetables, chicken nuggets and a dessert.
